Money Is No Object

America has become care free when it comes to money. When prices are raised, it is accepted as a challenge. Budgeting is almost non-existent in most households and people without jobs are the biggest spenders. America has spent itself into such debt that when attempts are made to spend less, the stock market begins to crash.

Mostly everyone is stuck in the mentality of, " Just gotta have it"! Whenever there is a new item on the market, it becomes America's item and the media is to blame. Polls are taken to determine what peaks a persons interest most; then commercials and ads are built around that. These advertisers have it down to a science and are manipulating everyone into buying, buying, and buying some more.

Of course, New York is the "fashion capital", there are ads on every corner for clothes, sneakers, phones, etc.. People are hassled and ridiculed in New York City if their attire is not up to par. Being lower class is not an excuse when credit cards exist.

America has reached the point of no return. This nation is in a debt higher than the tallest building and any attempt to change the disgusting financial habits practiced, might further destroy it.

Too Much T.V.

Too much television can be dangerous to any person, regardless of age. We live in a world where reality T.V. is on every channel, naked woman are in just about every video, and assassinations are broad casted on the news.

Although there are educational cartoons for children on certain channels, they are not retaining much information. A child looks at the T.V. and sees pretty colors and sings along, but when taken away and put on paper, it is like they never learned it. Having children learn from television shows takes away their understanding. They will not be able to read a Spanish textbook and know that H-O-L-A spells out what "Dora the Explorer" says at the beginning of every show.

How can anyone trust what these networks are teaching their children anyway with shows like "Family Guy" and "South Park" on the air. Best suggestion, television should go back to being a privilege and not a way of life. If and adult or child spends more time watching T.V. than they do reading a book, it is over kill.

There are many arguments as to who is responsible for the corruption of the American family. The blame has jumped from history, to lifestyle, and then to sexual preference. For instance, homosexuality is frowned upon because people think it destroys the sanctity of marriage. Single mothers were at one point chastised for bringing fatherless children into the world. As time progresses, men are seen less and less as the "head" of the household. People have taken comfort in knowing that they can survive without having to play "their roles" in life. The American family no longer consists of a mom, dad, brother, sister, and dog. A person's family can be whatever that person chooses it to be and America loves that. If this were not preferred to the traditional idea of family, then it would be changed. Almost every family has tainted or twisted this tradition in some way or another, therefore, everyone and everything is responsible for the fall of The American Family. America has changed, and because of that, we can only change with it.

Welcome Post ENG 101 CG

Hi, my name is Candice and this is my blog page. I would like to welcome all of you into my thoughts and I hope that you enjoy them. I have never had a blog page before, so this is a little new to me, please bear with me.

English has always been my favorite subject growing up, that may be because math is like a foreign language in my book. Seriously though, in my mind, a letter cannot equal a number. However, letter's can formulate into an essay that may make you laugh or cry. That same essay might motivate you to change your life, or begin to live it. Who has ever heard of an algebraic equation making anyone wonder is ignoring the homeless person on the bus was the right thing to do today? Exactly!

With that being said, I just want to let everyone know that I am so excited we are doing this and I look forward to reading everyone's blog. Yaaaayyyyy! Thanks for stopping by.
